Elias "E.J." Williams Jr
May 12, 1945 ~ September 23, 2024
Elias Jackson Edwards “E.J.” Williams, Jr., 79, passed away on September 23, 2024 at Geneva Center for Rehab and Nursing. He was born on May 12, 1945 in Phoenix, AZ to Dora Crawford Williams and Elias Jackson Edwards “Jay” Williams, Sr.
E.J. graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and was retired from the Martin Marietta Corporation where he designed aerospace systems and components. He was an expert in the Remington Model 95 “Double Derringer” and was an author for the Remington Society’s Journal. He was a gun smith specializing in obscure and antique firearms and gun springs. E.J. was literally a human almanac with an encyclopedic memory of history, movie titles, actors & actresses, birthdates, antique and classics cars, and much more. He was also a member of the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club, Blacksmithing Club, and Ohio Farm Bureau. He was known for his quick, but very dry sense of humor. He had a green thumb for growing hot peppers and made the best Chile Rellenos and Margaritas!
He is survived by his daughter, Christy Williams Gammon (Justin); nephews, Gregory Cotton (Helen Shiozawa) and Eric Cotton (Anne Poorman).
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Doreen Williams Fanady (Matt); and sister Ramona Williams Cotton.
