Eileen M. Smith

Eileen M. Smith passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016, at the age of 89. Eileen grew up in Mayfield Heights and was a lifelong resident of Painesville, Ohio, born to Anna and Marine Materse on November 1, 1926. Eileen is survived by her daughters, Becky Turner and Sandy McKenna; sister, Ruth Urban; son-in-law, Roger Turner; grandchildren/spouses Rhonda/Guy Bacelo, Roger/Paula Turner, Mark McKenna and Julie/Dennis Malkamaki; 12 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Smith; daughters, Kathy Smith and Patty Smith; and sister, Jean Jones. Eileen served in several different roles for many many years at the Painesville Area Senior Center. She was also very active at the Deepwood Center, 18 years on the Board of Directors, and 10 years with their Bingo program. Eileen's family would like to say a special thank you to Paula Turner and Lisa Suttles for all the time, help, care and love they extended to Eileen during her last days. Eileen was very loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
