Edward Lee Dingess, age 69, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at his home. He was born September 28, 1955 in Ashtabula, to Elba, Sr. and Mattie (Martin) Dingess.

Ed was retired from Morton Salt after 40 years of service. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and going to the casino. He was an avid “do-it-yourselfer”. Ed enjoyed taking his dogs, his best friends, Roxy and Jasper, for car rides. He was a wonderful father and friend. The world was a better place with Ed in it.

He is survived by his children, Shanna (Colin Danks) Dingess, Robert (Janette) Dingess; sister, Susie (Roger Craik) Dingess; brothers, Elba, Jr. (Sandy Chudzik) Dingess, Paul Dingess; sister-in-law, Patty Dingess. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Jennifer; parents, Mattie and Elba, Sr.

Friends will be received 2-4pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, OH. A Funeral Service will follow at 4pm.

  4. Ed was a great person, a hard worker and plenty of laughs we had at work. Even after he retired he always called every now and then to see how we were all doing. Such a caring, kind soul. He could be stubborn but would do anything for those he cared about. He will surely be missed. My deepest condolences to his family.
