Edward J. Shan, age 98, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, February, 22, 2014, at the Geneva Village Retirement Center. He was born September 25, 1915 in Cleveland and later married Anne Stepsis. Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in the European Theatre as a medic. He worked for White Motors when he came home, and after 25 years of service, Ed retired. He then kept busy working for the Bole Family in Kirtland. Edward was a member of Friends of Arcola Creek, and the Madison VFW. He enjoyed fishing for salmon and trout and also enjoyed drawing and painting. Edward is survived by his son, James R. (Judy) Shan of Gates Mills, Ohio; grandchildren Lois, Donald, and James; 9 great-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and brother Henry Chryznowski of Euclid, Ohio. He is preceeded by his wife Anne; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Shirley Shan; parents; and brother Stanley Shane. Private family services will be observed.
