He was a lifelong Madison resident moving to Ashtabula in 1993.
Passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville,
Born September 28, 1922 in Cleveland to Louise (Mulc) and Mathew Mavko
Mr. Mavko worked many years for Bennett Manufacturing in Madison and as a supervisor for Euclid Products in Willoughby, retiring in 1982.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 504th AAA Battalion serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was known for his generosity and willingness to always lend a hand. He was a talented wood worker and machinist. His garden was his joy.
He is survived by 2 sons

Brother Lou (Jo) Mavko of Madison

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Lapinski Mavko; 2nd wife,Janet Kovacs Mavko and his Parents
Friends will be received 2-4:00 pm and 7-9:00 pm, Friday, January 30, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio.
Rev. Sean Donnelly of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will be officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at North Madison Cemetery.
