E. Ray Williams, Age 85, of Geneva, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at home.
Born September 22, 1924 in Huntington, WV, to Elva (Ritchie) & Edgar Williams, he married Ann Warner April 27, 1968 in Maryland.
Ray retired from Altell in 1968 after 40 years in telephony. He had worked for Western Electric, Warren Telephone Company and Midcontinent. Ray was a self-employed electrician for 10 years and a Geneva Township Zoning Inspector for 16 years. Ray received a plague for dedication and outstanding service from the Geneva township Trustees.
He enjoyed reading his collection of Louis Lamour books, liked working in his yard and playing pool. He was very humorous and had many friends. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and was always ready to help a friend in need.
He is survived by Wife: Ann Williams of Geneva; Daughters, Linda Taylor of Canton, Peggy (Rick) Bliss of Geneva, Debra (Roy) Lightle of Hartselle, AL, Tammy Williams of Geneva; Son, Kirk (Companion, Eilan) Williams of Jefferson; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Robb (Marie) Williams of Ravenswood, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mable King, Frances Blackburn, Virginia Seward, Catherine Pixley, Juanita Williams; brothers, Justin ?Bud? Williams & James Williams
Friends will be received 1-3:00 pm and 5-7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm.
