Duane H. Saba

Duane H. Saba, 58 of Geneva passed away unexpectedly on August 8th.
Born January 4, 1964 in Painesville, Ohio to Gabriel (Linda) Saba and Judith Smallwood (Earl McDaniel).
Duane is a 1982 graduate of Madison High School. In Duane’s younger years he enjoyed playing football, baseball, was on the varsity soccer team, and was an avid wrestler. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud veteran. Walking alongside Duane, you could always hear him holler out “Semper Fi” or “Oorah” to his fellow veterans and active Marines. He was a member of Post 112 American Legion in Madison. He worked for Coca-Cola foods in Geneva for several years, and then at Carmeuse Lime and Stone of Fairport Harbor.
Duane’s biggest accomplishment to anyone that knew him was his five children. Duane played an active role in each of his children’s lives, well into their adulthood. He adored his 10 grandchildren and was looking forward to welcoming his eleventh at the end of this year.
He leaves behind his five children, Jessica (Mike Kirk), Amber (Jon Pinney), Gabriel (Joanna Dietrich), Saydi, and Abbey (Marcus Chom); 11 Grandchildren, Kamron, Aiden, Emily, Rylye, Sophia, Oliver, Penelope, Adalayde, Georgia, Graham, and Olive Mae, arriving in December; his mom and dad; two sisters, Judith (Dwight) Moyers, Kimberlee (Woody) Woodard; one brother, Ryan Saba, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, all of which he adored.
He is proceeded in death by both sets of his grandparents; Uncle Leroy (Red) Smallwood; Step Father Earl McDaniel; his baby sister, and his best friend and uncle, Harry Saba.
Calling hours are 2-5 pm Sunday, August 14th at Behm Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. His service will be held Monday August 15th at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at 1pm, 3140 E Center St, North Kingsville. Online obituary and condolences may be viewed at www.behmfuneral.com.
So sorry to hear of Duane’s sudden passing. My Condolances to the Saba family. I knew Duane from American Legion Post 112. It was always a pleasure to see him there; He always had a warm hello and a wide smile to greet me.

Condolences to Duane’s family. We remember Duane from very early Marine Corps life. He was so much fun and even then, family was everything to him. Even though the years put many miles between us, we will always remember Duane’s smile, friendship, and joy for life. Semper Fi, Duane.
I’m very sorry to hear of Duane’s passing. I remember Duane best as a talented football player and devoted father. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in their time of grief.
