Douglas Patrick OBrien

Douglas Patrick O’Brien, 74, of Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025. Born on October 10, 1950, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Doug was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
A graduate of Ashtabula High School and Baldwin Wallace University, Doug was the proud co-owner of O’Brien’s Printing, a family business he ran alongside his wife, Arlene, for over 30 years. Married for more than 40 years, Doug and Arlene built a life full oflove, hard work, and dedication to their family and community.
Doug was a man of many passions. He was a skilled carpenter, known for his craftsmanship and the projects he loved to work on. He was also an avid fan of Cleveland sports and Ohio State football.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Arlene; their children: Dan (Abby), Brett, and Kaitlyn (Andrew); and three cherished grandchildren: Thomas, Charlie, and Avaya. He is also survived by his brother Tom, his sister Barbara, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Betty O’Brien. While no funeral service will be held, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
