November 7, 1926 ~ August 22, 2014

Dorothy (Hall) Potter, 87, went home to be with the Lord on August 22nd, 2014 at her home in Madison, OH. She was born Nov. 7, 1926 in Letcher County, Ky. Dorothy was a resident of Perry for most of her life, also living in Berea, Kentucky and Camden, South Carolina. Dorothy was a member of Faith Baptist, Perry, South Madison Bible Baptist Church in Ohio, Southern Baptist Church in Berea, Ky and Northgate Baptist Church in S. Carolina. She will be remembered as a very religious person who would want to see everyone she loves in Heaven someday, encouraging anyone who has not yet become born again to find out what that means. She loved talking on the phone with family and friends and was proud of the fact that she was able to say that she was alive to see her families 5th generation born. Dorothy loved reminiscing about growing up in Kentucky, and was able to identify the occupants or previous tenants for every house in the holler where she grew up, as she knew them all personally and took an active interest in how they were. She was also the fastest bean snapper this side of the Mississippi and an avid quilter. She loved to travel and garage sale, always looking for that overlooked treasure and supplies for her quilting. After she moved back to Ohio, Dorothy began attending the Madison Senior Center where she met many friends. Dorothy's main occupation was mother, farmer and housewife, though she has also worked in the kitchen at Lake Erie College, and Ohio Rubber in her younger years. She helped her husband Lewis with the local Farmer's Markets in Berea, Kentucky after they had retired. Survivors are her brothers: Ellis Hall of OH; Don (Sally) Hall of OH. Sister in Law Linda Hall of Ohio. Children: William R. Potter of Indiana; Nettie A. (Franklin) Wood of OH; Daughter-in-law, Sherrie Potter of SC.
