Dorothy Medlen

Dorothy Medlen, Age 78, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at home. Born August 25, 1932 in Boswell, Pennsylvania to Mary (Stokowski) & Michael Visnosky she married Loring Medlen in Cleveland, Ohio on May 25, 1955. She worked many years as a Nurses? Aide and at the end of her working career she worked in the cafeteria at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Dorothy was a member of Park Street Christian Church where she served one year as a Deaconess. She recently had begun attending Painesville Baptist Church with her family. She was a past member of the AMVETS, Perry Chapter, and a proud member of the Sands Retirement Community Tenants Association. Dorothy enjoyed working as a volunteer to the children of Mexican parents who were learning to speak American English. Surviving Family, Daughter, Marsha (Larry) Wade of Madison; Sons, Loring ?Bud? (Margaret Ellis) Medlen III of Perry, Michael Medlen of Perry, Joseph (Stephanie-Childs) Medlen of Perry; Grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Medlen of CA, Adam Wade of Madison, Dustin Medlen of VA, Amy Medlen of TX, Joseph Medlen, Jr. & Savannah Medlen of Perry. Preceded in Death by her husband, Loring L. Medlen, Jr.; Grandson, Michael Medlen; Parents; brother, Eugene Visnosky. Friends will be received 6-8:00 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2011, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio with a Funeral Service following at 8:00 pm. Officiating will be son-in-law, Rev. Larry Wade . Place of Burial will be Perry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
