Dorothy May (Brock) Smith, known to many as “Granny”, 88 of Madison passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024 in Geneva, Ohio. Born May 3, 1936 in Doyle, Tennessee to the late Vallie Dee (Gragg) Brock and Bailey Powell Brock.

Dorothy enjoyed being an active member of the Lakeside Baptist Church, singing, gardening, bird watching, completing puzzles, sewing and quilting, baking, canning jelly, and drinking her famous tea. Most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and many grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 66 years, Hancel Smith; her parents; her daughter Susan Leonard; and siblings Ray, Reed, Ruth, Reba, Richard, and Gleason.

Survivors include children, Louise (Joseph) Hejduk of Madison, Allan (Theresa) Smith of Madison and son-in-law Frank Leonard of Painesville; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Frances), Jessie (Brynn), Dustin, Ian (Kayla), Courtney (Zack), and Nick; and 6 great-grandchildren, Austin, Cody, Parker, Bradley, Jaxson, and Leo, brother Wayne (Carol) Brock of Chardon, and sister Debbie White of Tennessee.

Friends and family will be received from 2-5 pm Sunday, Dec 29, 2024 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place Monday, December 30th at 11am at the funeral home.
