Dorothy Kerin

Dorothy Kerin, age 84 of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. Born June 20, 1932 in Painesville, she was the daughter of the late John and Jenny (Zakrajsek) Avsec Sr. Dorothy worked for several years as a Secretary at the Diamond and then for nearly 20 years at the Planter Flower Shop in Geneva. She loved gardening and could often be found selling pumpkins at her road side stand. She also had a spot in her heart for her cats, Honey Bear and Timmy. She is survived by her husband, Martin; her brother, John Avsec; nephews, Bob (Karen) Ruck, Stanley Ruck and John Drew (Laurie) Avsec; nieces, Shelby Young and Sheila Avsec. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Annie Ruck and Mary Jane Avsec. Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Friends will be received for one our prior to the service from 10-11am. Final resting place will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Madison Village. The family suggests contributions in Dorothy's name to the Ashtabula County APL.
