Dorothy J. Ferguson, age 92, of Madison, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Madison. She was born August 19, 1920 in Cleveland to Lucy (Cover) & Roy H. Cole.
Dorothy had worked as a machine operator at Bailey Controls. She was a member of the Madison Historical Society and Lakeside Craft and Garden Club. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blue Star Mothers and a member of Geneva VFW #6846. Dorothy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was the family historian and a wealth of love and memories. She loved planning family reunions, polka music, traveling and flowers. Dorothy is deeply loved by family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Dottie Odegard of Geneva; sons, Larry Ferguson of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Douglas (Cheryl) Ferguson of Rincon, GA, Gerald (Myla) Ferguson of Ashtabula; 38 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fran Griffin of Thompson & Virginia Popp of Perry; brother, Roy H. Cole of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; son, David Ferguson; parents; 2nd mom, Ann Cole; son-in-law, Bill Odegard; sister, Doris Toenis; brothers, Jim & Frank Cole; grandsons, Andrew and baby Virgil and longtime friend, Frank Sturm.
Friends will be received 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jonathon Schroeder of St. John's Lutheran Church will be officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
