Dorothy Bemis

Dorothy Bemis, 95 of Geneva, passed away November 16, 2018 at Rae-Ann Skilled Nursing of Geneva. She was born December 30, 1922 in Cambridge Springs, PA to Corinne (Hollis) and Allen Willey. Dorothy married the love of her life, Leo C. Bemis, in Crawford County, PA on September 3, 1943. Dorothy was a woman of faith and a member of the People's Church in Geneva. We will sorely miss her, but take great comfort knowing that she knew Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Dorothy was an avid reader throughout her life and enjoyed bowling. In retirement, Leo and Dorothy volunteered for 15 years at their local hospital in Pittsburgh, although their favorite activity was spending time with their two beautiful granddaughters, Briana and Chelsea. Most of all, she was a kind woman who served her family. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Scafuro of Geneva and granddaughters, Briana and Chelsea. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Leo; her son, Richard Bemis; her daughter, Janet Bemis; and her siblings, Marjorie Fields, Grant Willey and Gevene Bennett. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 10-11:00 am at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway Geneva, Ohio. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation in the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Rose officiating. Private interment will take place at Harpersfield Cemetery.
