Doris Steitz

Doris Steitz, age 92, of Mentor, OH, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Emeritus of Mentor. She was born on May 10, 1921 in Cleveland to Eugene Cutts and Stella (Smith). She married Matt S. Steitz on July 5, 1945 in Cleveland. She graduated from Lakewood High in 1939 and held several jobs until she had her first child. Later on Doris worked in real estate for several years and retired from AAA in 1987. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Matt Steitz; children, Walter (Dorothy) Steitz, Lorelei (William) Wakenshaw; grandchildren, Christine (Richard) Steitz-Smith, Melissa (Joel) Jackson and Anthony M. Wakenshaw; great-grandchildren, Madison Smith, Jarred Smith, Finnigan Smith and Tilly Jackson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard Cutts and Eugene Cutts, Jr. and her daughter, Lenore Steitz-Nagielski. Private family services will be observed. Final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva. The family suggests that contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
