Dord Jerrell

Dord Jerrell, age 68, of Thompson, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at TriPoint Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1946 in Jonesville, VA to Marie Ellen (Alsup) and Rhea Southgate Jerrell. He married Sylvia "Diane" Keith in Concord, on July 30, 1982. Dord worked for Ohio Rubber, Tree Preservation Corporation and retired from RW Sidley in 2012. As a Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served our country in the US Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed trips to Presque Isle Casino with his wife. Dord loved gardening and entering competitions with his award-winning sunflowers. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diane, brother, Rhea (Mary) Jerrell of Kansas City; sisters, Beulah Yeater of Lisbon, Janet (Bub) Woodworth of Rock Creek; several nieces and nephews; 4-legged companions, Summer, Mandy, Aurora, Calamity, Daisy and his bird, Sunshine. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Wade will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Perry Cemetery on Center Street, Perry, Ohio.
