Donald G. Smith, 87, of Geneva, formerly of Perry, died peacefully February 10, 2019 at his home. He was born April 1, 1931in Booneville, KY to Dale and Emma (Seales) Smith. He married Eleanor M. Vekony on March 31, 1950 in Fairport Harbor.
Donald worked for many years in maintenance with ODOT, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, working in his yard and watching birds. Donald is survived by his wife and friend of 68 years, Eleanor; sons Garry M. and Donald P. Smith and brothers, Clayton and Hugh Smith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis J. Smith in 2012; brother Bernie Smith and his parents.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 11a.m. to 12p.m. at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison, OH. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 12:00p.m. in the funeral home. Final resting place will be Perry Cemetery.
