Donald F. Romano

Donald F. Romano, age 74 of Perry, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield. Born May 30, 1942 in Cleveland he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Dardis) Romano. He married Priscilla Safko in Chardon on January 25, 1964. A 1960 graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Donald worked for 14 years as a dispatcher for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Chardon. He worked for many years as a truck driver for the Swagelock Corporation in Richmond Heights retiring in 2002. Donald had many friends and never met a stranger. He loved golfing and enjoyed some good conversation over morning coffee with his friends. He loved animals, placing his bet at the race track, traveling with his wife, gardening, and cheering the Steelers to victory, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his wife Priscilla; daughter, Marlene; son, Richard (Debbie); daughter, Jennifer; grandchildren, Shanon, Josh, Marrell, Danielle, and Amber; sisters, Lillian "Dolly" Romano, and Norma Kangas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Emerson. A celebration of Don's life will take place from 2 - 5:00 p.m. on May 14, 2017 at the Perry Community Center, 2800 Perry Park Rd., Perry, Ohio 44081. Please join us for food, spirits, and good memories. A private burial will take place at a later date at Montville Cemetery.
