Diane L. Nicholson, age 58, of Madison, Ohio passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born August 22, 1957 in Ashtabula to Rogene (Sunbury) and Richard Titman. Diane married Ronald L. Nicholson on June 21, 1980 in Geneva. She was a 1975 graduate of Geneva High School and a 1979 graduate of Kent State University. Diane was a secretary at North Madison Elementary for the past 22 years. She was heavily involved in Chapel United Methodist Church and the last 15 years at Crossroads Community Church. Diane was a board member of the Cleveland Koinonia for many years and a board member of Madison Youth Basketball for 6 years. She loved playing in her golf league on Monday nights. Diane enjoyed theatre and for years had season tickets and frequented The Playhouse Square Theatre District. She was a loving wife and mom who fought cancer for 9 years. Diane participated in the Susan G. Komen walk every year and supported all cancer warriors and survivors. Through her cancer battle, surely the love for her grandson, William, kept her fighting. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ronald L. Nicholson; daughter, Katherine Marie (Andrew) Sokolow of Nashville, TN; son, Matthew Richard Nicholson of Houston, TX; grandson, William Everett Sokolow and brother, Douglas Lee Titman of Dallas, TX. Friends will be received 4 -8 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Crossroads Community Church, 6685 Middle Ridge Road, Madison, OH. Pastor Mike Haury will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be Alexander Harper Cemetery in Unionville.   1. Dear Ron, Kate (Andrew and Will), Matt and family, I can't help but smile when I think of Diane's joyful heart, infectious laugh, and her wonderful sense of humor. I will always be grateful that she was part of my Chapel Church and Cleveland Koinonia families. She set the bar high with her courage, strength and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She was indeed an inspiration to all who knew her. Her enormous love for her family and for the Lord gave her courage beyond comprehension. Diane was loved and will truly be missed.   2. Oh what a dear lady gone too soon. Her ready smile and sparkling eyes and most of all her infectionious laugh will I miss. A fellow Koinonian who truly loved her mission and the people that were brought to these weekends. Nick and I had first hand experiences with Diane and Ron.

  5. Mike and I remember meeting Diane at the Titman Reunion on our first visit to Ohio in 2012. Kate had just got married and she showed us the wedding album. Judy has kept us informed about Diane’s illness and we spoke to her a couple of weeks ago when she told us that Diane had gone into hospice care. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very sad time.
