Dennis Spicer, age 57, of Thompson passed away at University Hospital in Cleveland on September 15, 2014. He was born December 17, 1956 in Painesville, the son of Mamie (Ricketts) and Charles Spicer. He married Jan Scott on July 22, 1978 in Madison.
Dennis grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1975. He worked in the construction field and for John Deere until his retirement in 2008. Dennis enjoyed working in his garage, fishing, golfing and collecting baseball cards, however, his favorite past time was being with his grandchildren. Dennis had a great sense of humor, always getting "mileage" out of one of his stories or answering life's questions with the appropriate movie quote.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; daughters, Angela (Dan) Bonham, Ashley Spicer; son Zachary (Kristin) Spicer; grandchildren, Christian Spicer, Jack Bonham, Connor Spicer and baby Bonham expected in Nov.; brothers, Chuck (Crystal) Spicer and Dewayne Spicer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 11 am - 1 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at South Madison Bible Baptist Church, 5441 S. Madison Road, Madison, OH 44057, with a Celebration of Life following at 1 p.m. Final Resting Place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
