Delmus Eugene Pinkston, Jr., age 72, of Perry, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Tri-Point Hospital. He was born September 16, 1945 in Parkersburg, WV to Delmus Eugene and Waneta (Randolph) Pinkston. He married Marie Veronica Meister on July 14, 1978 in Painesville. Delmus is an Army Veteran. He was a Shipper for 40 years at Avery Dennison. He taught adult Sunday school for over 30 years. He was a member of the Salvation Army for 45 years, serving as Corp. Sergeant Major for 20 years. Delmus refereed for the State of Ohio in the Perry Midget League Football. He also was a t-ball and softball coach and umpire. He enjoyed softball and played for over 30 years. He is survived by his spouse of 39 years, Marie; children, Delmus Eugene (Nadine) Pinkston III, Tracy (Salhat) Saleh, David Meister, Derek Pinkston, Erin (Carson) Litwiler; 7 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and brother, David (Sharolyn) Pinkston. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel Pinkston. Friends will be received Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 12 - 2 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A Funeral Service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. Final Resting Place is Perry Lane Cemetery where military honors will be observed.
