David W. Thompson

David W. Thompson, age 84 of Geneva, died Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Geneva Village Retirement Center. He was born December 23, 1935 in Flemington, WVA., the son of David and Virginia A. (Stutler) Thompson.
He was a supervisor for Metal Wheel before going to work at True Temper, then on to RMI. After which he went on to work for Madison Local Schools, where he worked as a custodian for 9 years before retiring.
He enjoyed fishing, boating and his family. He and his wife loved to travel to Florida, especially after retirement.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia (Robert) Tryon and Mark (Amy) Thompson; grandchildren, Amy (Seth) Kehr, Ally Thompson, Sarah Thompson; great-grandchildren, Kayla Guilds, Kendall Garrett and one more on the way this August.
He is preceded by his parents; wife, Betty Lou (Lantz) Thompson; sister, Betty Ettari.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.

Mark, I am so sorry to see the your father has passed. As you know, he was my supervisor at RMI. I used to go the extra mile while working for him. He was always genuine, honest, and fair towards me. I respected him a lot. After RMI closed he told me to use him as a reference, which I did. The personal manager at SCM told me his recommendation was instrumental in my hiring. He helped me in so many ways. I will forever hold the deepest regard and memories of him. My deepest sympathy to you and your family! Tony Adame
