David J. VanDame

David J. VanDame, age 89 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby. Born August 30, 1925 in Cleveland he was the son of the late Minnie (Smith) & David A. VanDame. He married Nancy Haidet at Euclid, Ohio on October 27, 1962
A 1943 Graduate of West Tech High School David served in the U.S. Army and served in USAF. David worked as a Train Dispatcher for New York Central and also in sales for AGA-GAS for many years. He was a member of Madison Lodge #307 F & AM. The Madison VFW and Cooties. He also enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening, and ceramic painting. He was member of Chapel United Methodist Church and a proud active member of the Madison Community Honor's Team.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy VanDame and a host of nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. One great-great niece and nephew as well as extended family the Cruthers. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William VanDame and three sisters, Bernice E. Sifling, Edna Hylkema & Ruth VanDame
Friends will be received from 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. There will be a Masonic Service at 4:30pm
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00an on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. William Alvey officiating. Internment with full military honors will immediately follow at Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland.
