David G. LaRue

David G. LaRue, born on April 22, 1938, in Newark, New Jersey to Charles and Mildred. He is survived by his wife Abigail who he married in 1959, and his children William Charles, Elizabeth Ann Simko (Dan), Brian Paul (Kim). Dave loved singing and participated in community choirs in New Jersey and Ohio. He was a member of Thompson United Methodist Church where he enjoyed teaching the adult Sunday School class. He coached Little League Baseball in Perry and volunteered as an Athletic Trainer for the Perry High School Football Team. For many years you could find him sleeping in the barn with the horses and his young 4-H members at the Lake County Fair. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a FMF Corpsman in Newport, R.I. and Camp Lejeune N.C. Dave will be greatly missed by family, friends, and his two 4 legged girls Anne & Zoe.  A Memorial service will be 11 am April 15, 2023 at Thompson United Methodist Church in Thompson, OH.
