David Corbissero, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by an outpouring of love from family and friends both near and far.

David was born on July 14, 1943, in Ashtabula, Ohio, where he was raised and graduated from high school as valedictorian. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University). He built a long and respected career as a chemical engineer, dedicating many years to Diamond Shamrock and later Ricerca, where he contributed his expertise to research, development, and industrial innovation. He was known for his intellect, strong work ethic, and quiet pride in his profession.

A lifelong Ohioan at heart, David was a devoted Cleveland sports fan. He followed the Cleveland Indians (Guardians), Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Cavaliers with unwavering loyalty through every season. He also had a deep passion for Ohio State football, rarely missing a game and sharing his enthusiasm with family over the years.

Beyond his professional life and love of sports, David found joy in simpler pleasures. He was an avid lover of cats and had a particular passion for collecting antique lighting, especially Aladdin lamps, taking great pride in his collection and knowledge of their history.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Corbissero. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia; his sons, Dean (Lisa) of Austin, Texas, and Darren (Danne Dunworth) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren, Caity (Austin) and Nathan (Kelsey); and his two great-grandchildren Elijah and Zach. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate David’s life on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Behm Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio.
