Darlene Joyce Novak, age 58, of Madison, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at home. She was born April 20, 1958 in Cleveland, the daughter of Corrine (Martincic) and Bernard Diehl. Darlene enjoyed watching her grandson in the CKRA club go-cart racing at Thompson Kart Raceway. She loved camping at the Kenisse Grand River Campground and spending time with her family. She is survived by her spouse, Shane Slattman; children, Michael Novak, Michelle (Troy) Novak, Jeffrey (Carly Cottrell) Novak, Jennifer (Michael) Denyer; grandchildren, Samantha, Tiffany, Brittany, Tyler, Sarah, Morgan, Ayden, Alexis, Trinity, Marissa, Austin; great-grandchildren, Mason and Olivia; mother, Corrine Diehl; sisters, Diana Sumer, Jeanne Diehl, Joyce Overcasher; and brother, Johnny Diehl. She is preceded in death by her father. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio. Fr. Sean Donnelly will be officiating.   1. I'm going to miss you Dar. I am blessed tho to have shared my childhood with you. We had a good childhood that some peopl never had. Good parents good siblings and good times. You entered my heart at 6 yrs old and 50 yrs later your still in my heart. I know you were the mole of your family. I know how much you loved CHRISTMAS I got a card every year. I have last yrs card put away with my Xmas deco so I know who sent them. I am always going to put that card up every year from here end out.   11. My deapest sympathy to the family of Darlene. The night i spent out in Madison at the sleepover was awesome. Darlene made breakfast for all of us before we left. Such a gracious and thoughtful host. You will truly be missed. At home with dad now God bless all of you.

  12. Darlene was a former coworker of mine at Steris. Her nickname was gama. We kept in touch through Facebook since. Sorry and shocked to her of her passing.

  13. I am so sorry for everyone's loss. It is so sad and shocking! Way too young, Darlene was the backbone of the family, and kept it together. She touched so many lives and was an influence among many. I can't imagine what her family is going thru. Darlene was the perfect nana and she will truly be missed. So sorry!!
