Danny Allen Gelhausen, age 72, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic. He was born June 9, 1951 in Elkins, WV, the son of Robert and Louise (Ware) Gelhausen. He married Patricia Warren in Painesville, May 11, 1971.
Danny worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Painesville. He enjoyed watching Nascar, watching drag racing, and driving his classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat; son, David (Theresa) Gelhausen; granddaughter, Hannah Snider; brother, Jeff Gelhausen Sr.; sisters, Anita Sheltraw and Cindy Meister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Christopher Gelhausen, Rebecca Gelhausen and Cary Gelhausen.
Friends will be received 4-8pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Danny’s family is planning a celebration of life, and burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

I am praying for your family. I will always look back and remember with fondness when he built his garage and then getting to watch him work on his car in there with Dave. He was always very nice to me. He will be missed for sure.

Dan and I became friends while going to the same gym. He always had a positive attitude and we had a lot of the same hobbies. We enjoyed talking about cars and he always cheered me on while we were there. He will certainly be missed and I pray your family finds peace in the fond memories you have.
