Dale A. Hines, age 85, passed away July 3, 2022 at David Simpson Hospice House. He was born June 24, 1937 to Russell and Beatrice (Lewis) Hines. He married Barbara Judd on April 11, 1959. Dale was a homebuilder in the area for many years. He learned the trade through a 4-year journeyman’s program offered by the Higley Company in Cleveland.  He built 31 homes in Harpersfield and surrounding areas. He enjoyed hard work and building anything and everything from homes to boats, barns, guitars and grandfather clocks--and even built the Sunday School addition of the church he spent his life worshiping in.  If he could build it--he did--and took great pride in his workmanship. His hobbies over the years included, piloting his Piper Cherokee, fishing and snowmobiling. He was a wonderful man of God who loved and served the Lord with all his heart and was a wonderful husband and family patriarch. He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years Barbara; daughters, Debra (Edward) Ireland, Kristen (Patrick) Marineau; grandchildren, Jonathon (Lorrie) Ireland, Josiah (Anna) Ickes, James (Heather) Ickes; Amanda (Coz) Adams and Matt (Erin) Marineau; great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Frank), Delanie, Ian, Colten, Jesse, Liam, Avalynn, Lily, Lucas, Elaina, Joseph and Davey; great-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Colton; brothers, Denman and David (Evelyn); sister, Nadine Conn; and many loved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dean, Phillip and Larry Hines; brother in law, Perry Conn; and sisters in law Susie, MaryLynn, and Laura. Friends will be received 3-5pm, Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison Ohio 44057. Funeral Service will be 12pm, Monday, July 11, 2022, at Faith Community Church, 5835 Rt 166 Rock Creek, Ohio. There will be visitation one hour prior to service at church. Final resting place will be at Alexander Harper Memorial Cemetery in Unionville.   5. Its’ been a year since you left us DAD and we all miss you dearly. I received a butterfly bush from the funeral last year. I planted it in my garden. Over the winter months it did not make it. Even in the spring I did not see any sprouts. I was so disappointed because I thought it had not survived the harsh winter. But all of a sudden in mid June around your birthday dad, the butterfly bush sprang up so fast I just could not believe. it. Now it is almost in full bloom. Now every year in June around your birthday I will be able to think of you. Thankyou to whoever gave me the Butterfly Bush.
