She truly enjoyed life and was a blessing to all those who were fortunate to know her.

4/6/13 - Update Dear Community of Geneva, Our mother, Cindy Stephenson, used to say that when her mother passed away, the amount of people who showed up to pay their respects was such a sight to see. She would then say, "People simply loved her." We think this was the day that our mother learned how important community was, and how much the people of Geneva meant to her and her family. For this reason, she had full confidence that Geneva was the place she wanted to raise her two children as a single mother. The support that was given to her and her family was immeasurable.
Due to the kindness that all of you showed her, she was able to call Geneva her home, and no matter what, her heart always brought her back here. She lived most of her life in Geneva, and always spoke highly of the city and its people. She had so many best friends and was a best friend to so many who live here. She worked in the city, volunteered when she could, and went to Geneva schools sporting events long after her kids graduated. The relationships that she made in Geneva were essential to her happiness. She lived her life putting others first, and we can't thank you enough for allowing us to also say, "People simply loved her."
With our mother's passing, we have been lucky enough to see how much the people of Geneva meant to her, and how much you mean to us. Thank you for all you have done and all that you do.
We wrote this letter on behalf of our mother, Cindy Carter Stephenson. This was one of her final wishes. Her heart and joyous spirit will always live on in all of you. Thank you for the memoires we have shared.
With deepest appreciation, The family of Cindy Carter Stephenson
