Corey Thomas Pistone, of Chardon, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loved ones on May 9, 2024 at University Hospitals in Cleveland at the age of 32. Corey is survived by his wife, Jessie Pistone (Baker); daughters, Delaney and Charlie; mother, Jeanne Brewer (Aaron); father, William Pistone; sister, Jessica Burnheimer (Rylen); brother, Kameron Pistone (Sierra); Godfather, Dr. Michael Konstan; and countless other family members and friends. Corey is preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Frank and Jean Schwartzott, Charles and Caroline Pistone, and Dorothy Howe; and Grandfather, Tom Pistone. Corey was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 9, 1992 to William and Jeanne Pistone. He was raised in both Painesville and Madison and settled his own family in Chardon, Ohio. He graduated from Lakeland Community College with a degree in Business Management and Marketing, and worked as a chef at Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jessie on September 7, 2013. They welcomed their twin daughters and little princesses, Delaney and Charlie, on April 21, 2017. Corey was a skilled woodworker, exceptional chef, tremendous artist, and devoted volunteer trainman for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Corey enjoyed listening to classic rock, boating, playing baseball and tennis, home improvement projects, cooking for his loved ones, and vacationing with his family. Friends of Corey describe him as a generous, witty, optimistic, inspirational person. Corey believed you should treat every day like Christmas. Corey is well-known for maintaining a positive outlook despite his lifelong, courageous battle with cystic fibrosis. He was committed to improving the lives of fellow patients with cystic fibrosis by participating in research studies, fundraising for the CF foundation and donating video game systems to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Corey’s presence will be deeply missed by all the lives he has touched. Corey’s family gratefully acknowledges the dedicated care he received by his CF physicians, nurses, and other staff at University Hospitals throughout his life. Corey was especially grateful to his selfless lung transplant donor who gave him the gift of time. Family is welcoming visitors at the Behm Family Funeral Home in Madison on Thursday, May 16th from 3pm-5pm, service to follow. In order to honor Corey’s humor, visitors dressed in band attire, funny shirts, or Christmas sweaters are welcome.

  7. I’m so sorry to hear of Corey passing. I remember that cute happy go lucky kid, that loved being outside playing, riding his bike, playing baseball, and always had something he was excited about. He made me smile everytime I seen him because he just was so happy and excited with everything the day brought. He will be always remembered as that cute little happy go lucky kid, that didn’t let anything get him down.
