Connie Hooper

Connie Hooper, age 73, of Ashtabula, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home. She was born February 24, 1945 in Pontiac, MI the daughter of the late Elden and Marion Shell.
Born and raised in Michigan she spent most of her life raising her family in Florida. She worked as a nurse for Venice Hospital and the Sarasota Retina Institute. Her experience helping people with sight impairments led her to establish the Magnifying Center which she operated for several years. She went on to work as the Corporate Secretary for Merchant Services Carolina Limited in Raleigh, NC which brought her and her partner, Roger to Geneva. In her later years she owned and operated Crafts by the C and the Sewing Basket which allowed her to express her talents creating unique handmade items. She was always there to greet guests with a warm smile at the Geneva Antique Mall.
She is survived by her partner, Roger Miller; her children: Jodie, Jeannine, Jennifer, and Elden: 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: and her brother: Bob Shell.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time. Contributions may be made in Connie’s name to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
