Clifford “Bill” Allison Jr., 96, passed away at the UH Geneva Medical Center on Saturday, August 15th 2026, following a sudden illness. He was born on March 11th, 1930 in Alliance to the late Blodwen (Lane) and Clifford Allison Sr. He married his beloved wife, Georgette George in Akron on May 10th, 1956.
Clifford graduated from Alliance High School in 1948, and went on to Mount Union College. After finishing his bachelors, he received his Masters in Mathematics from Bowling Green and a Masters in Administration from Kent State. With his education he became a Junior High Principal for Cleveland Heights Schools, where he stayed for 35 years, retiring in 1984. The Roxboro Junior High football field was named in his honor. Clifford was a veteran, serving in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Lyndhurst Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and past Master of Forrest Hill Lodge. Additionally, he owned and operated Allison’s Mini Golf, a business built in 1924. Clifford was a member of Saybrook United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas Allison, his children, Bill (Mary) Allison, Kathy (Joe) Carroll, and Janet Hewitt; his grandchildren, Bill (Kim) Allison, Jen Allison, Amy Allison, Ashley (Zachariah) Adams, Ryan (Ashley) Carroll, Michael (Megan) Hewitt, and Kristen (Mark) Hollman; and his great grandchildren, Valkyrie Allison, Emerson Adams, Romy Carroll, Mia Hewitt, and Makayla Hewitt.
Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother Robert Allison and his sisters Barbara Kemeto and Mary Francis Six.
