Clayton Smith

Clayton Smith, age 96, of Madison, Ohio passed away on Friday January 14, 2022 in his sleep following a short illness. He was born in Boonesville, Kentucky, on April 17, 1925 to Emma and Dale Smith.
He was married to Betty Edward on December 2, 1951 in Perry, Ohio.
Clayton was a proud World War II veteran having served in the 29th Infantry Division. He lived his life as a Free Mason belonging to Lake Shore Lodge #307 of Madison for over 60 years. Clayton was an avid fisherman, spending many hours on Lake Erie in anticipation of catching the “great walleye.”
Clayton was preceded in death by his wife Betty.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Smith; son, Dale (MaryBeth) Smith; granddaughters, Samantha (Al), Angie, April (Jimi); 9 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a Graveside Service being held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Perry Cemetery, 3750 Center Rd. Perry, OH.

Clayton was a very caring and helpful man. He would stay and help my Aunt Jewell and Uncle Dan G. in the summers. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Blessings to all of you as your Dad was one good man.
