Clara S. Stone

Clara S. Stone, 87, of Harpersfield, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on November 6, 2007. Born March 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Metzdorf) Schnell. She married George L. Stone on May 8, 1948.
In her lifetime she was a licensed beautician, secretary and hostess for Clay Street Inn Restaurant, school bus driver for Geneva Area City Schools retiring in 1986 and spent many hours working the family farms in Austinburg and Harpersfield. Her husband and children were her life and she enjoyed making them feel special. She enjoyed spending many hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she was an avid reader, enjoyed snowmobiling, knitting, crocheting and making many treasured memories for the family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sitting down at the table with her family for every meal.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George; son, Larry (Glenna) of Harpersfield; daughters, Shelley (Michael) Stark of Rome, Robin (DeWayne) Nicholes of Harpersfield; grandchildren, Jeffrey Stone, Jeremy (Cyndi) Park, Jennifer (Terry) Hejduk, Nikki (Nate) Nelson, Jessica (Joe) Hall; great grandchildren, Mardie and Gabriel Stone, Hagan Hejduk, Riley Park, Jasmine and Michael Hall and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William and Leonard, and her sister, Eleanor Fink.
A Celebration of Life will be at the family home, 4748 St. Rt. 307 East, on Sunday, November 11, 2007, from 3-7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashtabula Animal Protective League, or Forward in Faith Campaign at Eagleville Bible Church.
Mrs. Stone?s family would like to thank the staff at Continuum Home Care, Hospice of the Western Reserve, and private caretakers for the wonderful care they provided.
