Christel K Schlag

Christel K. Schlag, age 79 of Mentor, OH passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Born December 11, 1934 in Fords, NJ, she was the daughter of Emily & Arthur A. Overgaard, Sr. Christel appreciated nature and had a love for animals. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting earlier in life and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. In her capacity as a store manager at The Great Lakes Mall, she had a gift for crafting creative retail displays. She is survived by her daugther, Lisa K. Schlag of Chagrin Falls, OH and her brother, Arthur A. (Estelle) Overgaard, Jr. of NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents. In honoring Christel's love of nature and wildlife, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Foxfield Preserve, 9877 Alabama Avenue, S.W. ,Wilmot, OH 44689. Contributions may be made to Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Building E, Mentor, OH 44060 The Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison, certified through the Green Burial Council, is assisting the family with arrangements.
