Cheryl Izzarelli

Cheryl “Cheri” Izzarelli, age 61, of Madison, passed away Sunday August 22, 2021 at UH Geneva Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1959 in Geneva the daughter of Joseph and Gwendolyn (Klepfer) Lander.
She worked for Madison Schools as a teacher’s aide for more than 20 years. Cheri was known to her students and co-workers as Ms. Izz! A member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion post 601; Cheri was a free spirit and was always the life of the party; a giver and very creative. She loved to golf, go on vacations and gardening was her passion. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Cheri is survived by her daughters, Erica Izzarelli, Allison (Robert) White, and Jenna (Brandon Hayden) Izzarelli; grandchildren, Lillie English, Chase and Maddie White, Carson Izzarelli; partner, George Berry and his daughters, Paige (Tyler) Gancos; Casi (Christian) Dixon, Kelly Berry; sister, Debbie (Doug) Ungers; brothers, T.J. (Marcy) Lander, Rick Lander; brother-in-law, Dick McNellie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jule Lander; sisters, Janice McNellie and Karen Burns; and former husband, Randall “Izzy” Izzarelli.
Friends and family will be received 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday, August 27th at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Service will be 11 am Saturday, August 28th at the funeral home.

Cheri was one of the most caring and selfless people I ever met. She was one of the first people I met when I came to Madison and she was so kind to me. Cheri treated me like family. It was such an honor for me to get to know her and be her friend for so many years. I will miss her dearly.

My father was a friend to the Izzarelli family, we would go to their home when I was younger. Condolences to the family for their loss at this most difficult of times.
