Charles Eugene Burchett

Charles Eugene Burchett, age 89, of Madison passed away August 25, 2014 at the Lantern of Madison. He was born January 14, 1925 in Jonesville, VA to Lindsey and Myrtle (Weston) Burchett. Charles served God at the Lone Branch Baptist Church until 1955 when he moved to Lake County, OH. He married Elizabeth "Libby" Carroll on October 22, 1955. Charles retired from the Addressograph Corporation in Euclid in 1983. He was a faithful member at Faith Baptist Church in Perry, OH for about 60 years. Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an avid sport man, excelling in rifle and trap shooting. He loved deer hunting in his beloved mountains of VA and PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby and brother Don. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Peggy (Charles) Watts and Ruth (Jeff) Lefelhoc of Madison, OH; sisters, Kate Horton, Joann (Earl) Horton; brothers, Paul, Earl and Lynn. He leaves five beloved grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Skocdople, Daniel Watts, Jeremy Hehmeyer, Joshua (Stephanie) Hehmeyer, Peyton Lefelhoc; great-granddaughters, Ava and Claire. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church, 3003 Narrows Road, Perry, OH 44081 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110 or Faith Baptist Church, 3003 Narrows Road, Perry, OH 44081.
