Charles "Chuck" Edwin Bailey

Charles “Chuck” Edwin Bailey, age 81 of Madison, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 14, 2020. On May 5, 1938, Chuck was born to Orrin and Hazel (Salway) Bailey. Chuck married the love of his life, Jeanette, in 1958 enjoying 40 years together until her passing in 1998. Chuck retired from Bailey Controls after 47 years of service. He and his wife, Jeanette, were foster parents raising hundreds of children over the course of 30 years. Family was the most important thing and the gift they gave to so many. Chuck was also a volunteer fire fighter for Madison Village and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Chuck is survived by his beloved children, Debra L. (William) Booth, Christine R. (David) Weber, Charles E. (Barbara) Bailey II; grandchildren, Jonathon, David and Daniel Booth, Jason, Thomas, Gregory and Angela Patterson; Becky, David and Joshua Weber, Cassaundra, Jennifer and Kenny Hollaway, Aiden and Ava Bailey; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Tryon, Mabel (John) Biddle, Josephine (Paul) Sturgill, and Joseph (Christine) Tryon; and two son-in-laws, Walt Patterson and Kenny Hollaway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette E. Bailey; two daughters, Jacqueline M. Patterson in 2009 and Charlene S. Hollaway in 2001; parents; and several brothers and sisters. A private memorial service will be held. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
