Charles "Chip" Mackey

Charles "Chip" Mackey, age 56, of Madison passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Hospice House in Cleveland after an eight month battle with cancer. Born July 2, 1956 in Euclid he was the son of Catherine (McKay) and Richard Mackey. He married Nancy Webb on October 6, 1979 in Euclid
Chip was an active member of Leroy Community Chapel where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school, worked with the Christian Service Brigade and sang in the choir. He was also a member of Gideon International. Chip owned and operated Mackey Trucking and was a broker with Osborne Concrete and Stone for the last 24 years. He loved nature, golf, going for walks in the woods with his daughters and vacationing with his family to many places. He loved looking at the stars with his telescope in the backyard. A talented woodworker and handyman, he loved his Bible and time with the Lord.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughters Lauren A. (Nathan) Minchen of New York, NY, and Emily A. Mackey of Baltimore, MD.; his parents Richard and Catherine Mackey of Painesville; sister Sandra (Michael) Gibson of Huntsville, AL.; brothers Dr. Scott T. Mackey of Columbus, and Marc E. (Kristi) Mackey of Scottsdale, AZ.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Leroy Community Chapel, 12920 Painesville – Warren Road (Route 86) in Leroy.
Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison
