Charlene Morrison
May 30, 1944 ~ December 17, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlene Morrison, age 79, of Madison, Ohio. On Sunday, December 17, 2023, Charlene stepped into a heavenly eternity at home surrounded by her loving family. On May 30, 1944, in Beaver Center, Pennsylvania, Charlene was born to parents Howard and Lucy (Fox) Bishop. On August 9, 1961, she was united in marriage with Lawrence “Larry” D. Morrison, Jr. and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary prior to her husband’s passing in 2012.
Known as a generous, kind woman, Charlene’s life focus was taking care of her family, whom she loved dearly. In addition, Charlene worked years as the bookkeeper of the family business, Morrison and Sons Trucking. Charlene enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling, whether it was a trip to Branson, Missouri, or just a Sunday drive in the country. Charlene had friendships near and far, including many penpals, some with which she had corresponded for decades. During retirement, Charlene and Larry enjoyed winters as snowbirds in The Villages of Florida and summers near family in their home on Lake Erie.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlette (Stuart) Ruf; sons, Gregory (Christina) Morrison, Lance (Debbie Rihaly) Morrison; granddaughters, Alycia (Eric) Schreckengost, Emma Richmond, Erynn (Tyler) Dixon; grandsons, Shane Morrison, Bradley (Jami) Morrison, Jesse Ruf; great-grandchildren, Finnick Lawrence, Mya Marie, Asher Daniel, and Aria Jordan, as well as siblings Charlotte Williams and Frank Bishop.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence Dewain Morrison, Jr. and parents, Howard and Lucy (Fox) Bishop, as well as brothers Stanley Bishop, Merwin Bishop and Richard Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, in memory of Charlene Morrison.
Please join the family as we celebrate Charlene’s life of kindness with calling hours on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 4-7pm and a memorial service, officiated by Keith Bishop, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:30am. Both calling hours and service will be held at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery.

I have been thinking of you all, all day. Your family means so much to the whole McCoy Family. We will miss Aunt Charlene and will lean on the memories we have made together. I am so sorry she had to leave us, but I know she is in complete peace and joy. I know you all will miss her tremendously.
So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Our years in Madison were made richer for knowing them. Larry built our home and the joy of sharing lemon pie and chocolate chip cookies bring a smile. Our thoughts to all of you during your grief. May you reflect on memories in the days ahead.
