Catherine Nash Merkel

Catherine Nash Merkel age 73 of Bay Village, Ohio, formerly of Madison, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at her home in Bay Village, Ohio. She was born April 14, 1934, in Madison, to Ethel Viola (Wilson) & Harry Willis Nash. She married Stephen Merkel on July 16, 1960 in Madison. She was a Children?s Librarian at Cuyahoga and Lakewood Public Libraries. She was a 1952 Graduate of Madison High School, a 1956 Graduate of Defiance and a 1959 Graduate of Western Reserve School of Library Science. She was also a member of Bay Presbyterian Church where she sang for 25 years with the Promise Choir. She is survived by her husband Stephen Merkel, her Son Jordan Merkel,Daughter Margaret Sliman, all of Bay Village, Grandson Christopher and Brother John Stephen Nash of Madison. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sisters Mary Frink and Margaret Nash, and Brother Harry Nash. Friends will be received from 2:30 ? 4:30 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will be at 4:30 p.m. at Central Congregational Church, 71 Park Street, Madison. Rev. Stephen Broache and Rev. Richard Reese will be officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
