Casimir “Casey” Tadeusz Lakota, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cleveland, the son of John and Frances (Romanski) Lakota on December 3, 1929. He married Charlotte Brafford Lakota on June 18, 2016.

After completing his trade school training he joined the United States Air Force in 1948 and served four years in Montana, Greenland and California.

Casey retired as an Investment Broker for AG Edwards after 37 years. He continued to work at local businesses including Value King and Giant Eagle. He finally retired when he celebrated his 90th birthday. He lived his life to the fullest and loved his family. He was proud of his Polish heritage and spoke, read and wrote fluent Polish.

He enjoyed building home improvements and gardening. He loved camping and served as a VIP ambassador at Pymatuning State Park. He loved traveling especially when he was driving.

Casey was an Altar Server at Assumption Catholic Church and Servant of Mary Shrine as well as a Eucharistic Minister at Rae Ann Nursing Home. He was a Knights of Columbus 4thdegree Geneva-Madison Council member and served on the board of directors of the Servant of Mary Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Lakota; step son, Christopher A. (Christine) Hlin; step daughters, Erika H. (Corey) Beal and Jane (Richard) Smith and; grandchildren, Zachary (Kayla) Hlin, Wyatt Beal and Michael and Patricia Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Eleanor (Stawiarski) Lakota; brother, Stanley Lakota and sisters, Jeanette Zubal and Estella Kaminski.

Friends will be received 4-7 pm May 1st, 2026 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am May 2nd at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 West Main Street in Geneva. Final Resting Place will be Calvary Cemetery, in Cleveland.
