Carolyn C. "Chris" Henrietta Vaughn
Carolyn "Chris" Henrietta Vaughn, 77, of Perry passed away peacefully, April 11, 2016 at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
She was born on March 7, 1939 in Cleveland to the late Michael Tobak and Margaret (Bognar) Tobak. Always proud of her Hungarian heritage, mom was a terrific cook and baker. She graduated from Regina High School, Class of 1957, and married Robert Vaughn on September 14, 1991.
Carolyn worked for the Lake County Employment and Training for many years. Prior to working for Lake Co. she worked at Gilson Gardens and Kelly's Garden Center. After retirement she had more time for her passion of working in her gardens and could be found there most everyday and spending time with children.
Chris volunteered her time for many years with Meals on Wheels and the Cloth-A-Child Program. She enjoyed gardening and was the past President of the Northeastern Ohio Rose Society. Carolyn loved all animals especially her dogs Moochie, Tucker, Dooley, and Rags and her horse Rebel. She loved horses, elephants, funny socks, waterfalls, her old house, roses, snowflakes, Christmas, cowboy boots and good books, but most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.
Left to mourn are her husband, Robert G. Vaughn; daughters, Diane Hartman, Deborah (Patrick) Vautrin, Margaret Henrietta and Karen (Christopher) Emanuele; sons John Michael Henrietta and Patrick (Yvette) Henrietta; brother Thomas (Laura) Tobak; and 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her dearest friend Jan Schudel. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Tobak Jr.; granddaughter Megan Bavetz; and her parents.
Carolyn: "If there are no dogs in heaven then when I die I want to go where they go" W. Rodgers. "I'll be waiting for all my beloved dogs at the Rainbow Bridge".
Mom will be remembered for her warm smile, kind spirit and compassionate heart.
