Carol Sue Buser

May 7, 1944 ~ November 14, 2013
Carol Sue Buser, age 69, of Madison, had a massive heart attack at Metro Hospital in Cleveland on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 and was taken home by Our Lord on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Born May 7, 1944 at Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut, Ohio, Carol had been a Lake County resident for 40 years, living in Madison.
In her younger years, Carol was a teller/proof operator for a number of banks in Lake and Ashtabula counties. She worked as a seamstress for a few years and for awhile made basket liners for Samuel Patterson Baskets. Carol volunteered at NEO Hospital until it closed. At one time she was the Treasurer for the Madison First Baptist Church and she was currently the Treasurer for the Perry Center (foodbank) and the Perry/North Perry Salvation Army Service Unit.
Carol is survived by her husband, Art of Madison; daughter, Christy of Northfield; son, Michael (Jackie) of Green; granddaughter, Alexandra of Green; sister, Charlotte of Conneaut; brother, Charles (Barbara) of Coatsville, PA; "adopted" daughter, Chrissy Kuhen of Bainbridge; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ressa (Hinkle) Case and her father, Clifton Charles Case.
Carol was a 1963 graduate of Ashtabula Edgewood High School and had recently attended her 50 year class reunion. She was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and dearly loved her church family.
Carol enjoyed her "kids" – Dulcie, a Chocolate Lab and Lucky, a Great Dane/Greyhound. She liked gardening and most any craft. She loved competing at the Lake and Ashtabula County Fairs. Over the past 30 years, Carol had won 3000+ ribbons in categories such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, jewelry making, baking, canning, candy making, cake decorating, flowers, vegetables and collections.
A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Carol's life at 11 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Perry United Methodist Church, 3875 Main Street, Perry, OH 44081. The family will receive friends during the hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Carol's honor to the Perry United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. www.behmfuneral.com.
