Carol G. Young age 80 a resident of Geneva, Ohio passed away Thurs., April 5, 2007 at Geneva Village Retirement Community.
Born October 28, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to Amanda (Schuster) & Harvey Clinton Goss
Married Milton R. Young in Lakewood, Ohio on February 3, 1951.
Worked for Fulton & Goss, Inc. and Land Title. 1944 Graduate of Lakewood High School and received her Bachelor?s degree in 1948 from Denison University where she was an active member of the AOPi sorority. Carol was a member of the Sweet Adelines choral group and was also a member of the American Association of University Women. She spent her working years as a substitute teacher and a real estate agent, but her number one priority was to be a supportive wife and mother. After marrying Milt and starting their family, the Young family operated the Duck Bay Hunting and Fishing Lodge in Lake of the Woods, Canada for three years. Carol and her husband?s love of traveling and camping didn?t stop there. They have been around the country many times and have led caravans to Alaska nine times. Many of their fondest memories involve friends they met through Thousand Trails.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Milton R. Young of Geneva; Daughters Elizabeth Joy (Otto) Stoltz of Harpersfield, Ohio; Carolyn Rae (William) Biggs of Blythewood, SC; Grandchildren Rob (and wife Cindy), Becky & Scott Stoltz of Geneva, Katy, Patrick, Molly, & Kevin McGinnis of S.C.; Great Grandchildren Taylor & Robert, Jr., both of Geneva; Sister Joy Narquis of Galena, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents Amanda and Harvey Goss
A ?Celebration of Life? service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Harpersfield Community Center, Cork-Cold Springs Road, located 3 miles south of Rt. 90, west off Rt. 534, Harpersfield Twp., Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Northwest Ambulance District, 1480 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041.
Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Geneva, Ohio.
