Carl Raymond Doerr
December 14, 1938 ~ February 3, 2022
Carl Raymond Doerr, age 83, of Thompson Township passed away at home on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. He was born in Springs, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1938 to Raymond Doerr and Evelyn Doerr. The oldest of six children, Carl learned to be a hard worker from day one. Carl moved to Ohio for a job opportunity that he knew would support his family. He retired from Berkshire Local Schools as the maintenance supervisor caring for all the details of the facility and everyone that he spent time with. His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved spending time in the garage with his grandsons and took great pride in all that they did, truly the world’s proudest Pap. He was a dedicated snowmobiler, one of the original founders of the Thompson Ledge Runners Snowmobile Club, chasing snow all the way from Maine to Quebec to Yellowstone and everywhere in between. And if you knew Carl you know there was always a story to be told.
Carl was a veteran of the US Army and respected by so many. Anyone that crossed hisPath learned something from his wisdom. He was a teacher and a mentor to all people. There was so much to learn from his work ethic and his skills in every trade. He could fix anything. He invested his time into the people he interacted with which is the most valuable gift anyone could give. His favorite pastime was sitting at a table full of people reminiscing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Doerr, Parents Raymond and Evelyn Doerr, and his siblings Linda Dovel and John Doerr. He is survived by his siblings Ronald (Debbie) Doerr, Florence (Joe) Friend, and Nancy (Bea) Deckman. Children Carla (Mickey) McGee and Timothy (Paula) Doerr; grandchildren Zachary (Kira) Doerr, Jacob Doerr, Anthony (Karen) McGee and Brian McGee; and great-grandchildren Mia and Jason Doerr and Logan and Emmy McGee.

Carl was a great custodian when he was at Troy Elementary. He took such good care of the building, and always had a kind word for the staff or the children.
Much sympathy for his family.
Carl was one of my favorite clients. Nothing ever seem to get hin down and if it did, it wasn’t for very long. I always looked forward to our visits. I am so saddened by this loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Carla we love you and your Dad.
