Carl J. Lauer

Carl J. Lauer, age 58, of Leroy Township, OH, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born December 12, 1954 in Painesville. He was the son of Eugene and Elizabeth (Oresko) Lauer. He married Monica (Doland) on September 24, 1977 in Chardon. A 1973 graduate of Riverside High School, Carl retired from the Ohio Army National Guard after 24 years of service and he also served 4 years active duty following 9/11. He worked as a tool and die maker for Air Power Dynamics in Mentor and he served as a Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 67 in Leroy. Carl loved riding his motorcycle, bowling and boating. He is survived by wife, Monica Lauer; sons, David (Christine Beech) and Christian (Josephine Lata) Lauer; sisters, Mary (Mark) Elsing and Barbara Lauer; brothers, Larry (Michelle O'Dell) Lauer, Douglas (Connie) Lauer, Edsel (Wendy) Lauer; brothers-in-law, Norbert (Beth) Doland, Steve (Paula) Doland, and sister-in-law, Marina (Bill) Rimes. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Keith and sister Laura Jean. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River Street, Madison, OH, 44057. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
