Bryan R. Smith

Bryan R. Smith, 51, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on June 4, 1972 in Madison, Ohio to Richard and Susan Smith, the eldest of their seven children. Bryan grew up in Ashtabula and was a 1990 graduate of Ashtabula High School. That fall, Bryan left home to serve as a military policeman in the US Army. Following his honorable release after five years of service, Bryan worked for more than 20 years as a federal officer for Homeland Security, first in Washington DC before transferring home to Cleveland. Bryan is survived by his parents and siblings: Lisa (Richard) Jones; Eric (Denise) Smith; Jared (Melissa) Smith; Kimberly Galindo; Robert Smith; David (Jamie) Smith; as well as his six nieces and four nephews. Bryan lived a life of service to man and country and will be dearly missed by family and friends. A memorial open house will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 571 Seven Hills Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.  Committal will be held at 1:45 pm on Tuesday August 15^th at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.
