Brenda “Do-do” Hawes passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2024. She was born July 21, 1972 in Painesville the daughter of Eddie Combs and Mary (Ivancic) Cain.

Brenda worked for several years at Saybrook Landing and will be missed by her wonderful friends and coworkers. She loved her family who were the most important part of her life. With a fun and sparky personality, she loved time spent at the Casino’s. She loved animals, especially Lulu, Dixie and Pita.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Scott “Stretch” Hawes; son, Zack (Jessica) Elkins; granddaughter, Lauralyn; mother, Mary Cain; mother-in-law, Mary Jo Hawes; uncle, Michael (Cindi) Ivancic; aunt, Florence Schmidt; brother-in-law, Carl (Shannon) Hawes; sister-in-law, Kim Wortman and several nieces, nephews and cousins; her best friend Peggy Westlake “aka Weezy”; her dogs Lulu and Dixie and her cat Pita. She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Combs; grandmothers, Josephine Tinker, and Gladys Cokeley, uncles, Albert and Frankie Ivancic; cousin, Tony Schmidt and sister-in-law Kelly Solorak.

Friends will be received from 2-6 pm on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Monday December 30th at the funeral home. Final Resting place will be at Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road in Madison.

  2. SO SO VERY SORRY FOR HER DEATH .SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AND TRULY LOVED HER FAMILY. I NEW BRENDA FROM BEING MARRIED TO HER DADDY EDDIE FIR 9 YEARS .WE TOOK A COUPLE TRIPS TO SEE HER WHEN SHE LIVED IN TENNESSEE FOR AWHILE. IM SO VERY SORRY FOR HER MOM I KNOW THAT PAIN VERY WELL FROM JUST LOSEING MY 28 YEAR OLD GRANDSON AND BROTHER ON THE SAMD DAY.BRENDA HAD A LOT OF HER DADDY IN HER THOSE LOVEING BLUE EYES THAT THEY HAD.SHE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY SUCH A LOSS.TO LOSE A CHILD OR GRANDCHILD IS THE WORST. RIP BRENDA GAIL..
