Boyd C. Rider

Boyd C. Rider, age 69 of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. Born on May 26, 1957 in East Cleveland, Boyd was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Michel) Rider.

With his quick wit and spunky sense of humor, Boyd was always ready with a good joke. He will be dearly missed by all of his friends at the Madison Family Restaurant where he could often be found sharing a smile and a meal. He had a generous heart and a passion for classic cars. He worked in the maintenance department at Geauga Hospital and retired after 20 years of service.

Boyd is survived by his children, Christina Rider, John (Brandie) Rider and Kelly (Sammy) Miller; step-children, Marsha (Joe) Ribovich and Bobby Gibson; grandchildren, Michael, Gabriel, Lukas, Autumn, Lillian, Caleb, Oliver, Jonnie Peach, and Paige; sisters, Pam Hills and Jackie (Paul) Kucharski. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Marylou.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Funeral Service will begin at 4:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Nevseta of East Conneaut Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.
